We have always had problems with sensitivity to acidic foods and combined with picky children meals have always been a challenge for me. Paige can't even eat mandarin oranges because it will literally burn her bottom raw. I have been searching for things to vary their meals but I was afraid of even ketchup because of their sensitive skin. Until recently the kids refused to eat noodles of any kind. I have tried spaghetti before and other noodles but they always touch them and would have nothing to do with it. I have tried to get them to dip chicken and such to open the fields of foods just a little bit with no luck.
We finally tried ketchup a couple months ago and the kids have really started to like it. We incorporated it slowly and their bottoms seem to be adjusted well. A few weeks ago Paige finally became a dipper! She was so cute dipping her chicken in her ketchup one piece at a time. She did tend to use the same piece of chicken over and over as she licked off the ketchup but I still give her credit. Two weeks ago they finally ate spaghetti! They have been working really hard with their forks and Ethan has almost completely got it. Big boy! I just had to share their first real spaghetti experience. Enjoy!
Ethan was just sticking his hand in the ketchup and licking it off.
He was such a messy boy and she kept picking up any that dropped on her tray and would put it back in her bowl. Total opposites as usual.
