The Mall- Round Two

It was too cold to go to the park a few Sundays ago and the kids were so bored. Dallas and I decided to take them to the mall and let them play in the play area. I knew it would be busy since it was about 3:00 pm on a Sunday but the kids needed new shoes so we went.

The play area was much better with two adults to two children; however, the problem this time was all the bigger kids. I swear the parents were all sitting right there and the kids were all running wild! Bigger kids were literally running and kept knocking over all the little kids. I was about to get really vocal when we decided to just go ahead and head down to Stride Rite for shoes. The kids had a great time regardless but Dallas and I were nervous wrecks. Control your children people that's what is wrong with the world today!!! (Well that's one of the things wrong with the world.)

Getting a picture of them together is just so pointless.

We walked around the mall and made our way to the shoe store. Both of the kids feet are so wide that they can't fit in ANY shoes other than Stride Rite. I am thankful that Stride Rite provides the huge shoes we need but seriously do they really need to cost $60.00 a pair! Ridiculous!!! Ethan's new shoes were sizes 6 1/2 and 7 extra wide and Paige's new shoes were 6 and 6 1/2 wide. They were good as you can expect two 18 months old children to be.

Playing in the shoe store. New shoes for little man!
No picture of Paige getting shoes because I had to hold her still. Ha!

We then headed to the food court and had a little snack I had packed. We decided to take a shot at our first carousel ride. Ethan was such a big boy riding his horse! He didn't even need Daddy to hold onto him he could do it himself. Paige on the other hand wanted no part of the horse thing. She clung to me and screamed when I tried twice to put her on one. Paige and I rode on the bench in front of Ethan and Dallas. I have to say the carousel really moves and should probably be slowed down for the safety of all children. The bench we were on didn't even have any seat belts but that wasn't a big problem Paige wasn't going anywhere. She had no desire to try and move while this loud, bright, confusing thing was spinning at warp speeds. You can see her face of disapproval and her hand holding on for dear life. She is such a little dare devil at home but not that day. Ethan didn't really seem to know what to think but he was sure a brave little man!

Such a big boy!
So not loving it!
Same blank expression on both of their faces like father like son!

Tell It Girl!

Paige has always had a way of telling you her opinion and I finally caught it on video. I don't know what she wanted to say but I fear once she starts really talking she will never be quiet again! Enjoy! She is just too cute!

Daddy's so funny!

Daddy is the only one who can make Ethan laugh this hard! You never know when something is going to crack him up. The first time he ever laughed this hard was in the bath tub. Daddy dropped balls and toys in the water and made funny sounds, Ethan just died laughing. This time it was Daddy jumping at him that cracked him up. Pardon Paige she was being very distracting during my attempts to capture this Kodak moment. Enjoy!

Just playing with Mommy and Daddy

The kids were just being too cute playing with me and Dallas one day after work last week. Thought I would share the smiles...

Catch up continued... Birthdays

We spent the next two weekends in November out celebrating birthdays with friends of ours. November 8th was Stacie's birthday and we met them out near Wylie. We ended up staying the night at Mikey's since they live over an hour away from us. Grammie was babysitting the kids so we were able to stay rather than drive home late at night. Happy Birthday Stacie! We had a great time!

Mikey remembered a cake but forgot the candles so we had to improvise!
Stacie and Mikey. We love these two people.

Dallas beating Mikey in pool or so he says.

Yes, we ended up in a Karaoke bar. Too funny!

The next weekend was Cheyenne's birthday. This time Nana and Grand Daddy babysat and Dallas and I went out to Sherlock's in Arlington. We had a great time dancing and playing pool with a good group of friends. Cheyenne had a much needed time out with friends. Happy Birthday Cheyenne! We love you!

On our way to Sherlock's. First drink of the night.

Dallas, Stacie, and Mikey. The birthday girl and Dallas.

Danced all night to the Space Rockers. The band was good and very energetic.

Catch up continued... Hillary's Baby Shower

Our friends, Hillary and Phillip, are currently expecting their first baby. Phillip started working at TXU in the same group of guys that Dallas started with years ago. Phillip was in our wedding and Hillary caught my bouquet. They were married in January a few years ago and Dallas was in their wedding. Now they are expecting a baby girl and I had offered to help host their baby shower with Stacie another friend of ours. When they found out they were pregnant they called it their little monkey. When they found out they were having a girl they started calling her Monkey Princess until they came up with a name. They are doing the baby's room in pink and brown with a few monkeys so we decided to do the same theme for our shower.

I had most everything done by the Saturday before the shower and only had a couple of things to finish it up. I had made her a diaper cake and diaper baby with the coordinating colors. I made favors out of clean Gerber baby food jars and filled them with the only pink candy I could find, Whoppers. Believe it or not I could not find more than one bag of pink M&Ms from the cancer awareness month that had just passed. It worked out regardless. I had to put a little pink tulle in with the whoppers to bring out the pink color. I made labels that said...

Family, friends, and gifts galore...
Hill and Phil we couldn't love you more!

What a WHOPPER of a day!
Ryan Elizabeth Adams is on her way!

The favors turned out really cute! I also got an idea to make a monkey tree with brown and pink ribbons to sit next to her while she opened gifts. I borrowed the fake tree from my office and transformed it. It turned out better than I could have ever imagined!

I also made a brown and pink flower arrangement to sat on the fireplace mantel behind the mother to be. I didn't know if I was going to be able to find brown flowers but Hobby Lobby came through for me as always. The flower arrangement turned out beautiful and I am probably going to put it in my house somewhere.

I would have to say that the brown, pink, and monkey theme was extremely cute! I have done many baby showers in the past and this one was one of my best. Stacie lives over an hour away and we didn't meet at all prior to the shower; therefore, it was amazing that everything went together so well. Stacie did a great job on the food, drinks, cake, and house while I handled the decoration, favors, and diaper gifts. It was all beautiful and the mother to be had an amazing day!!! We love you Hillary and Phillip!
