What a quiet ride

The kids were so tired this morning probably from their busy weekend. They were very quiet on the way to Melissa's eventually I looked back and saw this...

Paige was awake but still very quiet and cute.

Hope everyone had a great Monday!

Visiting Hill and Phil

Sunday morning Dallas' parents came over to babysit while we went to Plano to visit our friends Hillary and Phillip. They recently had a baby girl and we were excited to meet her. We spent a good part of the day visiting with them and holding the baby. She was so sweet and tiny. You really do forget so many of the wonderful things about those first weeks of life. The way they curl up in the fetal position, the little mouth movements, and the adorable squeaks and groans. Ryan's little feet were so precious and perfect. I probably held her half the time we were there. I just couldn't put her down! We had to leave before we wanted another one. Thank goodness we are expecting several new babies in the next few months that we can hold and then give back.

Little Gym Party

Saturday we went to Landon and Addison's 2nd birthday party at Little Gym. Since Melissa was planning the party it was scheduled according to our nap time. The party started at 4:30 pm which gave us ample amount of time to get up from nap, eat snack, and get there. We were NOT late! Yeah! The kids love playing at the Little Gym! This time there were only about 13 kids so it was much better than the AMOM's play date.

We are getting one of these asap! A trampoline with handle bars, brilliant.

Every house should have a padded room. :)

The balance beam is always a favorite.

The first activity was singing happy birthday with jingle bells.

They took them away after the song and Addi wasn't happy. She held on to that bucket!

Then they brought out the balls.

After about 10 mins. they took those away and Addi wasn't happy. While she was being consoled by the staff Paige and Landon took as many balls as possible out of the tub. Then they all tried to dump the tub as they tried again to put them up. Little Gym might need to alter their birthday plans for kids turning two. Ha!

Then it was time for bubbles!

Next activity was the parachute. They wanted the birthday kids to stand in the middle while we walked around singing happy birthday. Both the birthday kids did NOT like this at all. Look at Landon's face he was so mad. It was so cute!

Daddy throwing Paigey. Time for the blow up trampoline.

The kids jumped, ran, and screamed.

Fun, fun!

Time to deflate.

Paige is so goofy. She just laid there. Cake time!

After cake the kids got to play for a little while longer. We tried to go eat at Cheddar's on the way home but within a minute Paige was throwing a fit. We took our name off the list and took our exhausted kids home. It was a great party!

Birthday festivities

This Friday, January 23rd, was Landon and Addison's second birthday. In case you have forgotten their mother, Melissa, babysits my twins and they are the kids' best friends. Their birthday party was Saturday at Little Gym and we went to Chuck E Cheese on Friday night with them as well. It was a very busy weekend of playing for Ethan and Paige.

We started their birthday Friday morning when I dropped off the kids. I brought their gift, a slide, in that morning so they could enjoy it all day. The kids were so funny. Whomever was at the top would wait for next person to push them down. They all waited in line for their turn and of course Ethan had to show them all how to go down face first. Paige just wanted to sit on the end of the slide and we kept having to move her. She decided she would just go play by herself. I think the slide was a huge hit.

Dallas was supposed to accompany me to Chuck E Cheese on Friday but he had forgotten about a a prior work engagement so I was on my own. Melissa was expecting other family and friends so I knew I would have help. I also offered to make cupcakes for everyone. How do I get myself into these things! Ha! I got off a little late on Friday, raced home, baked cupcakes, packed the diaper bag, put on makeup, got dressed, and ran out the door. I arrived a little late and Melissa and I threw the kids in the car. I decided to use the harnesses to get the kids in the door but it was still difficult. The kids had a great time playing but they wanted to run all over the place. We were confining them to the younger kids area and Paige didn't like that at all. The biggest problem I had was my daughter kept trying to eat food off the floor. So GROSS! I followed the kids around with antibacterial wipes but I was out numbered. Melissa and her group helped as much as possible but they are ultimately both my responsibility. Paige kept getting up in other people's booths and helping herself to their food. Are you kidding me!

The other problem I was having was literally my children. I intentionally have been raising my children to be very tough kids. I never wanted a child that cried every time they fell or someone touched them. The problem I am seeing now is that they are a little too tough. They don't even skip a beat when they run full force into each other or someone else. Problem is the other kid they hit does cry. They were running into kids all over the place and I noticed the other mothers fearful faces when my kids would come towards theirs. This little girl and her mom just sat there and watched as Ethan and Paige did circles around them. Is it a twin thing or do I need to do something about it? I don't want wimpy kids but I also don't want to raise bullies. Guess I am going to have to read up on this one. Maybe once they are a little older they will better understand the concept of other people and their space.

After the kids played for a while I ordered their food and they ate their first cheese pizza. Once they finished eating I let them play for a little bit longer. They found the one and only hall in the entire building and played there for the remainder of the time. They love to run and scream in halls. The hall was a dead end so I didn't have a problem with it. In fact it was a perfect solution because there was only one exit and I was standing there. At around 7:45 pm I decided I had had enough and it was time to go. Melissa's sister helped me take them to the car and we were headed home. Paige was so wound up that she didn't go to sleep until after 9 pm. The kids had fun but Chuck E Cheese is not the place for me the germaphob!
