Easter w my family

Saturday, April 18th, we finally were all well enough to get together for Easter. We had planned a simply gathering at my brother's house. We decided on an easy menu of sandwiches, chips and dessert. Of course Wendy always finds the best stuff. She had rolls that were out of this world for the sandwiches with very yummy meat and cheese. I think we were all relieved not to have to cook and clean for days.

Grammie brought all the eggs filled with toddler friendly goodies. We had to keep the egg hunt confined to the house since the yard was still wet from all the rain we had received that week. They currently have their house split by baby gates in an effort to keep toddlers, dogs and a newborn at bay. It worked out perfectly to hide the eggs on the other side of the gates in the dining room, down the hall and into the twins room.

Paige looks so stinkin' cute in her dress!

Abby loves her Uncle Dallas.

Jake looking cute. I caught Abby mid air! I love this picture!
and the landing. Ha!

After we let the kids play for a while it was time for lunch. All the adults stood around eating while the kids took the table. Eventually we will have an 'adult' table and a 'kids' table like when we were growing up. For now it is easiest to give them the table just to keep them all under control. It cracks me up how life changes to make it work for toddlers. :)

We decided to do the Easter egg hunt after lunch before the kids got too tired. Mom and I hid the eggs and then we let the kids go. Abby was a super star egg hunter! That girl was on a mission. She filled her basket so full that every time she would bend over to get another egg the others would spill out. She finally decided to dump it and start over. She was so adorable. Jake hunted a few eggs and then he was focused on what was inside of the eggs. He figured it would be easier to let sister bring him piles of eggs so he could open them. Team work! Paige and Ethan had fun gathering eggs but they were both very distracted by the new rooms. They both had been trying to go play in the twins room all day and now they were finally allowed in there. I thought Paige was going to get an egg but she was really just playing with the monkey toy in the corner.

Run Paigey!

The hall was full of kids and eggs.

I love this picture! My big brother and his twins. Too Cute!

We took a few family pictures before nap time arrived. Wendy's mom was still there helping with the new baby and twins so she took the pictures for us. It was really nice to have some time to visit with her as well. We really enjoyed our Easter visit and watching all the kids play together. They are all growing up so fast! Thank you John Mark and Wendy for hosting the get together!

So hard to get that many little faces to look at one time.

They love their Grammie!
