Easter at daycare

Our daycare hosted their Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 4th. I was very excited about this since the kids were old enough to understand what to do. The Friday before was the day Dallas had Lasik done. When we arrived back home from the surgery we received a call that Ethan was throwing up and needed to be picked up. I almost cried because I knew he couldn't go Easter egg hunting with a virus. As soon as I got Ethan home to Dallas he was just fine. I had to go to work and finish out the day so Ethan stayed with daddy. We later determined that the kids must have ate something the night before that upset their tummies. We had went out to eat and Paige had thrown up once that night then Ethan only once at school. Since they were fine Friday evening and Saturday morning we decided the egg hunt was a go! Yeah!!!
Before we left.
We got everyone ready to go but we still needed baskets. We stopped by Albertsons and took the kids in to pick out their own baskets. We walked hand in hand through the store and over to the Easter supplies. I said we are going to get Easter baskets and they both say, "basket". So cute! I picked out several baskets for each, laid them on the floor and they picked the one they liked the best. Paige got a pink and purple princess one which was secretly the one I wanted her to like. We must share the same great taste. Ethan picked a red Mickey Mouse basket and we were good to go. We had a little time to kill so the kids took balls and eggs off the shelves and filled their baskets. Ethan was having fun pushing around a plastic wheel barrel that was obviously too small for him. Daddy and Ethan found a blue spider man ball that Daddy insisted Ethan had to have. It was an actual rubber ball not one of the light weight cheap ones. Ethan carried his ball and threw a fit when we had to ring it up. We really had a good time in Albertsons picking out our baskets.

We arrived at the school and were among the first ones there. The girls were just starting to hide the eggs so I ran and shut all the doors in the hall to contain my children. As we waited others started arriving and Paige was getting impatient.
They were done hiding eggs and had a good group of kids ready to go. They opened the 3/4 year old room and the kids were off. It only took Paige a couple of eggs to know what she had to do. I ran with Paige and held her basket while she picked up eggs and put them in it.

Dallas was with Ethan while he hunted eggs. Ethan was a bit distracted in that room since we had only been attending the daycare for 3 weeks. He was in a new room full of different toys but he still did get a few eggs in the class.

We moved to their two year old room and Paige gathered eggs as fast as she could. I had to direct her outside so there would be some eggs left for the other kids that were behind us.
Ethan got lost in his room for a little bit. He and Daddy joined us outside shortly.
Paige was on a egg mission! The boys were on the opposite side of the playground from us so I went over there to get some pictures of them. Paige would run as fast as possible all the way across so she could put her eggs in her basket I was holding.

After most of the eggs were gone the kids played for a good 30 minutes or more. We were on the "big kids" side of the playground so they were all intrigued with the equipment. Ethan absolutely LOVED the playhouses! Him and Dallas sat in them together forever.

They both played on the equipment and then a game of basketball with Daddy started. By the time we were playing basketball most of the kids had left. Dallas would pick up each of them and let them dunk the ball. The kids had so much fun playing ball with Daddy!!! I have a feeling that will be one of our favorite games.

We not only had a great time with the kids but also had a chance to visit with some of the other parents. I especially enjoyed talking with the other twin's parents. John and Austin are about 2 1/2 and are the only other twins in their class. Their parents are so nice. We instantly got along and I told them I would be sure and get them some pictures because she had forgotten her camera. We had such a good time! I also felt it was a great thing for the kids to see that we could come to the daycare as a family, have fun together and leave together. Daycare was not just a scary place Mommy and Daddy dropped you off at everyday. The kids were still crying every time I dropped them off and picked them up at this point so I thought it was very important. Thank you Imagine Nation!

That ball was $10 Daddy didn't like it as much after he noticed that. HA!

They liked playing with the eggs afterwards as well.
