Big Ball of Fun

Sometime in the past two years we received a huge sprinkler ball as a gift. The kids were not really old enough to play with it last summer. We thought it would be perfect now so we pulled it out while they were napping one day. Ethan woke up first and was immediately drawn to the huge ball.

He pushed it around the house for 30 minutes.

Then Paige woke up and took control of the ball.

She wasn't ready to put baby bear down yet so it went for a ride on the ball.

They were not thrilled with sharing it.

Ethan LOVED the sprinkler! He pushed it all around, screaming with glee.

Then his Daddy thought it would be fun to put the sprinkler on the climber.

Ethan liked that as well. Paige put her hand in the water from a safe distance. We thought Paige was getting sick because she did NOT want anything to do with the water that day. Turns out she just does not like water sprayed in her face. In fact she screams when she hears the word shower. Guess she will be taking baths for a long time.

She is always happy with bubbles!

All Paige wanted to do was swing. Of course Daddy set the sprinkler up for Ethan to swing into. Our fun came to a quick end while swinging. I decided to turn Paige's swing around like Ethan's so she could see everyone. I moved the sprinkler so she would not get wet and took her out of her swing. She was less than thrilled. I grabbed the sides of the swing to move it and felt a huge nest! I flipped the swing upside down and saw a huge nest buzzing with yellow jackets. I dropped that swing, grabbed Paige, told Dallas to get Ethan and ran! He grabbed Ethan as fast as possible and we took the screaming, mad children in the house. Dallas went back out to kill them all and discovered the kids were both swinging in infested swings. We had sprayed all the yellow jackets earlier that day under the patio and under the slides. We never thought to look under the edges of the swings. I just thanked God that he was watching out for our kids! We could have easily been at Cook's Hospital with some very sick kids. Ethan was even swinging them through water! Oh, how scary! We always check the swings now!!!
