Our BIG Kid Chairs

When the kids were younger we bought them a little fold out Elmo couch. They have loved it since the minute they saw it. They used to eat their bottles on it together everyday. Once they started running out of room and we moved on to the sippy cups I knew that they needed to have their own space. Uncle Jim and our friends Nate and Tammy purchased a pink and blue bean bag chair for their 1st birthday. The kids loved the chairs but they had problems sitting in them. Since the chairs were bean bags inside whenever the kids sat down they just slid out. They weren't old enough to scoot their butts back and make a spot. I decided to return the bean bag chairs and use the money towards chairs with foam inside. I wanted to get the anywhere chairs from Pottery Barn for Kids because Ethan and Paige LOVE the ones that the sitter has at her house. I ask Melissa, the sitter, what size her chairs were and she said they were the oversized anywhere chairs. So that was it, I was on a mission!

The chairs were sold online separately from the slipcovers. The chair inserts were priced at $80.00 each and the slipcovers at $49.00 plus shipping. Are you kidding me!!! Well I am proud to say I purchased both inserts and slipcovers for less than one full set on potterybarn.com. Oh Yeah, Go Me!!!

We received the chairs last week and the kids LOVE them especially Ethan. We were quite surprised to see the size of the chairs once we got them. Apparently Melissa's chairs are the original anywhere chairs and we ordered the oversized. They are huge! Oh well the kids will be able to sit in them forever so it will be more worth the money in the long run.

Ethan is absolutely adorable in the chairs. He lays sideways with his feet up on one arm. He lays upside down with his head hanging and he even tips it over and sits on the back. This morning I sat the two chairs up side by side and the kids climbed in them immediately. Ethan decided Paige's chair looked better than his and tried to get in it with her. She corrected him quickly with a foot to the ass and he hurried back to his own chair. Oh these times are the most precious. I absolutely love these two kiddos!!!
