Its officially summer!

I apparently never posted this one, oops! This was last weekend the 6th of June.

Saturday morning we had an appointment to discuss options for our retirement investments at 10:30 am. Thankfully Dallas' parents were going to be in our neighborhood and wanted to watch the kids for us. Talking finances and dealing with toddlers just don't go together. The kids had woke up on the wrong side of the toddler bed Saturday morning and were whining constantly. We were so happy to see Nana and Grand Daddy! Of course while we were gone they were perfect angels with very little whining.

By the time we got back they were eating lunch and were about ready for nap. We put them down and spent a little while visiting with Linda and Michael. My mom ended up coming by to drop off some holiday supplies. We were planning on taking the kids swimming at Cheyenne's Mom's house once they got up. It was LeeAnn's birthday and our first official summer pool party.

I ran around crazy trying to get everything ready to go. Linda and Michael headed out and Grammie stuck around a little while to see the kids. It worked out really well while Dallas ran to the store and I got ready, Grammie entertained the kids and fed them snack. The kids were very excited about going swimming in the big pool. I was a little nervous about Miss Paige. She was so fearless last year and I worried this year I would not even be able to control her. Nevertheless I was excited to see how it would go.

We arrived and unpacked all our gear. Doing anything with two kids is always a job but swimming takes so much extra stuff. The kids patiently waited for Daddy to get their floats ready and get in the pool. We headed out into the water and began our day in the sun.

Paige absolutely loved the water. She was screaming with delight! Ethan was not really in the mood. We knew he was going to be difficult because he had only slept about an hour at nap time. We were in the pool for quite some time before ever getting out. The minute we stepped out of the pool the kids wanted to eat. I thankfully had brought their outside chairs and I set them up by the picnic table bench. It worked perfect! I didn't have to worry about them slipping off the bench while they were eating soaking wet.

Round 1: goldfish, grapes and ice water.

Kingston got a little jealous when his Mommy was holding baby Kai so he had to give her a hug too.

After snack it was straight back to the pool.

Daddy and Ethan had a good time floating.

Paige and I had so much fun together in the water! By the end of the day Paige was kicking her feet and doing the frog swim with her arms. I did not teach her the arm motions she just figured it out. She is going to be our water baby for sure.

After another 30 minutes in the pool they ran straight for the food again. We were busy getting things ready for the BBQ when we saw this. Paige feeding Ethan snacks. So cute! She is in love with her brother lately and wants to do everything for him even feed him.

I just love these!!!

Then it was back in the pool for another round of swimming. Paige and I were in the pool at least 5 separate times. Ethan and Daddy spent some time in the pool but they also played in the house and around the back yard. The last time Paige and I got out of the pool it was getting a little chilly to be swimming so we moved on to other forms of entertainment.

Balls and Bubbles... always fun!

Cheyenne dancing with Ethan. He kept dancing by the radio. It was so adorable! That little man has some moves.

Then they discovered the big cup full of crayons.

The kids were so busy having fun that they never noticed the time. We sat outside talking while they played and before long it was dark. I could not believe we got to stay out that long. I started gathering up all of our stuff since the kids were now rubbing their eyes and yawning. Dallas wanted to just put the kids down there but I was exhausted. I packed up the kids and we headed home about 9:30 pm!!! This is the longest we have ever gotten to stay anywhere with the kids. Our kids are very scheduled and regardless of what we want to do they are ready for bed before 8 pm normally. We were shocked and thrilled that they let us stay so long. They are getting older and are becoming more flexible. I am very excited about this summer. Thank you LeeAnn for having us over!

The birthday girl being silly.
