Sunday fun

Sunday we decided to take it easy and rest at home. When the kids got up from nap they were obviously bored. We decided to get them out of the house for a little while. It was too late in the day for Abbey's Playtown so we headed to the park.

We took bread to feed the ducks. Ethan kept chasing the ducks saying, "Quack, quack, quack".

We only let the kids play on the playground equipment for a few minutes. It was extremely hot and I was nervous about them getting burned legs.

When we first arrived I noticed a young man playing a recorder. When I say recorder I mean the little plastic flute you played in 5th grade. I thought it was odd but whatever. Not long after we hear bag pipe music. It was so neat! The young man was apparently warming up on the recorder before he started his real practice. Both the kids were very intrigued. They both ran over to the pavilion to listen and point as he played. It was really nice to have bag pipe music as back ground as we hung out at the park. It was something our kids would not normally been exposed to.

Since the ducks were full and the equipment was too hot to play on we decided to take a walk.

I love this picture! She was not as far over the edge as it looks in the picture, I promise.

He had to touch ever stone. Aw, look at my little red faced dolls.

Paige was watching another little girl feed the ducks. So precious!

Once we finished our walk we decided to go ahead and leave the hot park. We took the kids to McDonald's to play since we still had time before the evening routine.

See Daddy in the background. He had to take them through the tunnels the first time.

They were so excited to be up so high!

They were having so much fun. Can you tell?

We were the only people in the play area except for a little 3 year old girl and her Grandma. They were sitting diagonal from us and before long the kids had made friends. They chased each other through the tunnels, down the slide and started all over again.

We were watching the kids play when all the sudden a loud crash and water every where! When we first came in we noticed they had a bucket set up in the middle of the room where the ceiling was leaking. I never looked up at the ceiling and did not give it a second thought. Apparently the ceiling tile was bulging with water and we were there at the exact moment when it finally gave in. I luckily lifted my feet and the diaper bag just in time. The Grandma was not so lucky. She already had a big boot on her leg so she couldn't jump up and move. She got soaked. The not so bright manager just came out and just stood there looking at the giant wet mess. She ask if every one was okay and we said yes. Thank goodness the kids were all in the tubes when it happened. We started looking and noticed that the tile next to the one that had crumbled was also bulging with water. The Grandma advised the manager to poke a hole in it before it did the same thing. The manager took the mop handle and poked a hole in it and water gushed out onto the floor. The manager stood there watching with the bucket about an inch and a half from the gushing water. Dallas yells, "move the bucket"! She looks down and duh, moves the bucket to catch the water. It was crazy! At that moment Dallas suggest we get the kids out of here before they get hurt. Not two seconds later Paige walks right in front of us, slips and pretty much just sits in a big puddle of water. She did not cry. She just reached over and started splashing in the puddle. Yep, it was time to go. I was shocked at the managers lame attempts to apologize and rectify the problem but generally it was just funny. Never a dull moment at the fine McDonalds establishment!

You can't see the water in the picture very well but I was trying to be discreet about taking a picture. Ha Ha!
